Best behaviour

Plants are like children.  There are the naughty troublesome ones that require constant supervision, the loud shouty ones that are actually quite delicate, and the ones that just quietly get on with their lives requiring very little input and parenting. Thankfully Anemone x hybrida ‘Honorine Jobert’ is one of the latter and a plant that behaves impeccably in our north facing border near the front door at Genus HQ.

An enemy for some with its propensity for running riot and taking over, anemone for us with our well drained limestone soil  is a charming well behaved plant that stays put, doesn’t require supervision and has a beautiful long lasting display of yellow eyed flowers that appear more delicate than they actually are.  Even after the petals have dropped the small little ‘pincushion buds’ that remain are attractive on their long wiry stems and keep the interest in this border well into October.
