Description
The Stormscape Gardening Jacket is a weatherproof jacket designed to keep you comfortable and protected in the garden for as long as you want, or need, to stay outside. The fit is relaxed, with room for layering in colder weather. Stretch in the fabric, articulated sleeves, and press-stud-close, side vents all help the jacket move with you when bending, reaching, kneeling or digging.
We have packed the jacket with practical features inspired by the way gardeners actually use their clothing. Large chest storage pockets with a removable glasses wipe for those moments when every other piece of fabric you are wearing is covered in mud. The generous, flap-covered hip pockets hide a secure zipped pocket and a handy D-ring. Two fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets are perfect for warming chilly hands, while a zipped back pocket provides useful out-of-the-way storage and side vents give easy access to trouser tool pockets. A generous, stowable, adjustable hood with a stiffened peak and adjustable cuffs help to keep you protected from the weather.
The weather protection comes from a considered combination of materials. The first line of defence against the weather and everyday wear and tear is the durable, double-weave outer fabric, which is soft, stretchy and wind resistant, with a fluorocarbon-free water-repellent finish that helps rain bead up and roll away. Inside is a fully seam-sealed, high-performance breathable lining. This is the jacket’s waterproof barrier. It keeps rain out while allowing heat and moisture from inside the jacket to escape. This separation of the waterproof layer and the outer fabric, creates a jacket that feels softer, quieter and more flexible than many traditional waterproof shells. It also means that minor damage to the outer fabric does not automatically compromise the waterproof lining*.
Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large
Colour: Noble Blue
Fabric composition: Outer: 92% Recycled Polyamide 8% Elastane 230gsm, Lining: 2-Layer PU Microporous membrane 20,000mm hydrostatic head/ 7400g/m2/24hrs with 20D Polyester Tricot, Taslan: 100% Polyamide 140gsm 2-Layer PU hydrophilic coating 10,000mm hydrostatic 5000g/m2/24hrs, Brushed Tricot: 100% Recycled Polyester
Pocket use note: The pockets are lined with a durable, waterproof Taslan fabric to give added protection from moisture outside and from wet or muddy items stored inside them. However, the pockets are not fully waterproof. Phones, electronic key fobs, and other moisture sensitive items may still be damaged in wet conditions, so we recommend keeping them in a separate waterproof pouch or bag.
*A note about thorns: The waterproof lining is protected inside the jacket, but sharp thorns and pointed objects can still puncture or tear it if enough pressure is applied. Take particular care around blackthorn, hawthorn, roses, brambles and other thorny plants. Any puncture or tear in the waterproof lining may reduce the jacket’s waterproof protection.
