Winter Gardening Socks - Indigo
A warm, knee-length merino wool sock designed especially for
winter gardening. Offering greater warmth and cushioning than our 3 Season Gardening Sock, it combines lasting comfort, secure support and effective moisture management to help keep feet warm and comfortable throughout the day.
Description
Drawing on the performance yarns and considered construction used throughout the Genus clothing collection, we developed the Winter Gardening Sock specifically for long days in the garden in colder weather.
We carefully selected a blend of non-mulesed merino wool and durable technical fibres to balance warmth, comfort and longevity. Merino wool naturally helps regulate temperature and manage moisture, keeping feet feeling warm and comfortable without becoming overly hot or clammy. Technical fibres add strength, stretch and shape retention for reliable everyday wear inside gardening boots.
Unlike our 3 Season Gardening Sock, the Winter Gardening Sock has a soft loop-knit construction throughout. The tiny loops create pockets that trap warm air, providing extra insulation on cold days, while adding soft cushioning around the foot and lower leg for lasting comfort.
The looped construction also works with the merino wool to help draw moisture away from the foot. By keeping the skin feeling drier, it helps maintain warmth and reduces the friction that can lead to rubbing and blisters during long periods in your boots.
The sock has been engineered to provide a specific functional benefits:
Security:
A deep double cuff holds the sock securely in place without relying on a narrow band of elastic. An elasticated section around the arch supports the foot and helps prevent the sock from twisting, slipping or bunching during wear. It also helps keep the sock in place when pulling off gardening boots.
Fit:
The knee-length design provides additional warmth and comfortable coverage over the lower leg. A three-dimensional heel cup is shaped to cradle the heel for a closer fit, reducing excess fabric and movement inside your boots.
Comfort:
The ribbed leg construction provides comfortable stretch around the calf, while elasticated articulation across the front of the ankle allows the sock to flex naturally and helps reduce bunching as you move. A flat toe seam creates a smooth, soft finish across the toes, helping to minimise bulk, rubbing and chafing inside footwear. Open-mesh ventilation channels over the top of the foot improve airflow and reduce bulk, helping the sock sit comfortably inside gardening boots.
Durability:
The heel and toe are reinforced with polyamide yarn for additional strength in the areas exposed to the greatest wear.
